The problem

Is it true that all sufficiently large nn can be written as 2k+m2^k+m for some k≥0k\geq 0, where Ω(m)<log⁡log⁡m\Omega(m)<\log\log m? (Here Ω(m)\Omega(m) is the number of prime divisors of mm counted with multiplicity.) What about <ϵlog⁡log⁡m<\epsilon \log\log m? Or some more slowly growing function?

Statement quoted from erdosproblems.com/205, maintained by Thomas Bloom. Original source: [Er80,p.96][ErGr80,p.28]. Current status there: disproved (Lean).

Caveats

The wiki's classifications are provisional and are not a benchmark. Many Erdős problems have never had a thorough literature review, so a result that looks new may later turn out to be known; some problems were also stated ambiguously or incorrectly. See the problem page for the full discussion.
