The problem

We say that a graph is 44-chromatic critical if it has chromatic number 44, and removing any edge decreases the chromatic number to 33.

Is there, for arbitrarily large nn, a 44-chromatic critical graph on nn vertices with minimum degree ≫n\gg n?

Caveats

The wiki's classifications are provisional and are not a benchmark. Many Erdős problems have never had a thorough literature review, so a result that looks new may later turn out to be known; some problems were also stated ambiguously or incorrectly. See the problem page for the full discussion.
